Corporate video script template: 4 examples you can copy

A good corporate video script is short, written for the ear and paired with what the viewer sees. Below: the five-part structure most corporate videos follow, how many words fit each length, and four complete example scripts with timing and scene notes. The company in every example, Northwind, is made up; replace the details with yours.

The structure: five parts

Hook

Name the viewer's situation in one sentence, in the first five seconds.

Need

The problem, change or question the video answers.

What you do

Your company, product or decision, in plain words. One idea per scene.

Proof

A concrete example, a number you can stand behind, or how it works step by step.

Next step

One action: visit, book, apply or read the policy. Never three.

How many words: narration runs at about 150 words a minute, so 60 seconds ≈ 150 words, 90 seconds ≈ 225 and 2 minutes ≈ 300.

1. Company overview (60 seconds, ~150 words)

For the homepage, the first slide of a sales deck or a screen at a trade show. We turned this exact script into the video below with Easyimate, unedited.

0–6 sThe office coffee machine is the most important meeting room in the building.Colleagues gathering around a coffee machine, chatting.
6–18 sSo when the beans run out on a Monday, or the machine breaks before a big presentation, everyone notices. An empty bean hopper; a machine blinking an error light; a clock showing 8:55.
18–38 sNorthwind supplies offices with freshly roasted coffee, delivered before you run low. We install the machine, service it every quarter and fix it the next working day if anything goes wrong.Bags of coffee arriving on a schedule; a technician icon with a calendar; a machine back on and steaming.
38–52 sSince 2015 we have kept more than four hundred offices in coffee, from five-person studios to entire headquarters.A map of the region with pins appearing; a counter rising. (Use your real numbers.)

2. Product or service explainer (90 seconds, ~225 words)

0–8 sIf you run a warehouse, you know the moment: a customer orders something your screen says is in stock, and the shelf is empty.A customer clicking “Buy”; a worker staring at an empty shelf.
8–25 sStock counts drift because sales, returns and deliveries are recorded in different places, at different times. By Friday, nobody trusts the number.Three separate lists (sales, returns, deliveries) slowly going out of sync.
25–55 sNorthwind Stock connects all three. Every sale, return and delivery updates one count, the moment it happens. When an item runs low, you get a reorder suggestion based on how fast it is selling, not a guess. The three lists merging into one live counter; a “low stock” alert with a suggested reorder quantity.
55–78 sHere is a typical week. Monday, a supplier delivery is scanned in. Wednesday, a return goes back on the shelf. Thursday, a bestseller drops below ten units and the reorder is ready to approve.A week calendar; each day shows the event and the counter changing.

3. Recruiting video (45 seconds, ~110 words)

For the careers page, job posts and LinkedIn.

0–6 sThinking about joining Northwind? Here is what happens after you apply. An application form being sent.
6–30 sWithin a week, you will hear from a real person. Then a thirty-minute call about you, not a quiz. Then one practical task you can do at home, and a final conversation with the team you would join.A four-step path: reply, call, task, team chat; each step lights up as it is named.
30–40 sMost people hear our decision within three weeks, and we explain it either way.A calendar with three weeks highlighted. (Use your real timing.)
40–45 sSee open roles at northwind.example/careers.Logo and careers link.

4. Internal announcement (2 minutes, ~300 words)

For a policy or process change that every team needs to hear the same way. More in training videos.

0–10 sFrom the first of next month, expenses at Northwind work differently. Here is what changes, and what you need to do.Title “New expenses process”, with the start date.
10–35 sToday, receipts are emailed to finance, matched by hand and paid up to six weeks later. It is slow for you, and it is easy for receipts to get lost.Receipts flying into an overflowing inbox; a calendar flipping through six weeks.
35–80 sFrom next month, you photograph the receipt in the expenses app the day you spend. Your manager approves it in the app. Finance pays approved expenses every Friday. There are no forms and no emails.Three steps: phone camera on a receipt, a manager tapping “Approve”, money arriving on a Friday.
80–105 sTwo things to remember. Submit within thirty days of spending. And for anything over five hundred dollars, ask your manager before you spend, not after. Two cards: “30 days” and “Over $500: ask first”.
105–120 sThe app is ready on your laptop and phone today. Questions? Ask in the finance channel. Thank you for helping us make this simpler. The app icon, the channel name and the start date.

Writing tips that save a rewrite

Write for the ear

Short sentences, everyday words, one idea each. Read it aloud; wherever you stumble, the narrator will too.

One message

If the video has to do three jobs, make three short videos. Viewers remember one thing.

Show, don't list

Every narration line needs something to look at. If a line has nothing to show, it is probably filler.

Numbers you can defend

Use real figures and dates. Round them for the ear: “more than four hundred”, not “four hundred and twelve”.

Spell names for the voice

Product and company names are often mispronounced. Write them how they sound, or set the pronunciation once.

End with one action

A single web address or instruction, on screen long enough to read.

Questions

How long should a corporate video script be?

Spoken narration runs at about 150 words a minute, so a 60-second video needs about 150 words, a 90-second video about 225 and a 2-minute video about 300. Leave a second or two of silence at the start and end.

What is the structure of a corporate video script?

Most corporate videos follow five parts: a hook that names the viewer's situation, the problem or need, what you do about it, proof or a concrete example, and one clear next step. Each part is a scene, and each scene has narration plus a note of what is on screen.

Should I write what appears on screen in the script?

Yes. Write two columns: the narration, and what the viewer sees at the same time. On-screen text should support the narration with a few key words, not repeat it in full.

Can I turn one of these scripts into a video?

Yes. Paste the script into Easyimate, say the format and the look you want, and it plans the scenes from your narration, shows you key frames and then animates the video with voiceover, music and captions. You can try it free with 1 video up to 2 minutes.
