Easyimate / Compare / Powtoon

The Powtoon alternative that makes the whole video from your description

Powtoon gives you an editor of slides, templates and characters: you build each scene, set the timing and add a voice. Easyimate starts from a description — it writes the narration, plans each scene, shows you key frames to approve and animates the whole video, with voiceover, music and captions.

Two ways to make an animated video

Both give you a narrated animated video. What changes is how much of it you build by hand.

Powtoon

You assemble the video slide by slide

  1. Pick a template or start from blank slides.
  2. Add characters, text and props to each slide and set their animations.
  3. Arrange timing on the timeline.
  4. Record a voiceover or generate one with AI credits, then sync it.
  5. Add music and export within your plan's limits.

Easyimate

You describe it and approve the plan

  1. Describe the video in a sentence or paste your script. Say the audience, length and look.
  2. Review the narration, scene plan and key frames — ask for changes as often as you like.
  3. Pick a voice and confirm; Easyimate animates the video and emails you when it's ready.
  4. Download the MP4 with music and an SRT caption file, and ask for up to 3 changes.

Easyimate vs Powtoon

When Easyimate is the better fit

  • You want a finished video from an idea, not a template to fill in.
  • Editing scene by scene on a timeline is what slows you down.
  • You don't want to write the script or storyboard first.
  • You need the same video in several languages, or a vertical 9:16 version.
  • You'd rather have voiceover included than spend credits on it.

When Powtoon may suit you better

  • You want to lay out every slide and animation yourself.
  • You need single videos longer than 5 minutes.
  • You need screen recordings or presenter avatars in the video.
  • Your team already has templates and brand kits set up there.

Switching takes one brief

There's nothing to import. Take a video you'd normally build slide by slide and try it this way.

Describe the video

Topic or script, audience, length and look — a sentence is enough to start.

Approve the plan

Every line comes with what its scene shows, plus a few key frames. Ask for changes to wording, characters or whole scenes — free, as often as you like.

Questions

Is Easyimate a good alternative to Powtoon?

If you use Powtoon to make explainers, training or classroom videos, Easyimate does the same job without the editor: you describe the video, it writes the narration, plans every scene, shows you key frames to approve, then animates it with voiceover, music and captions. If you want to build each slide yourself from templates and characters, or need screen recordings, Powtoon gives you more manual control.

How is Easyimate priced compared with Powtoon?

Easyimate charges for the minutes of video you make: Starter is $19 a month for 15 minutes, and extra time starts at $2.99 a minute and never expires. Voiceover, music and captions are included. On October 24, 2026 Powtoon's pricing page listed Lite at $15 a month billed yearly with 5 exports a month, and its AI features, including text-to-speech, use monthly credits.

Do I have to write the script myself?

Yes, if you choose it. Easyimate's AI writes the narration and plans the video; you can paste your own script instead and ask it to keep your words, and change the plan as often as you like before anything is animated.

Which languages can the voiceover use?

Narration and on-screen text can be in 31 languages, including Spanish, French, German, Hindi, Arabic, Japanese and Chinese, on the free video too. Paid plans have more voices for each language. See videos in other languages.

Can I try it for free?

Yes. New accounts get 1 free video up to 2 minutes after email verification, in 480p with a small watermark. No credit card is needed.
